Monday, I had the professional pleasure of being interviewed by a young creative founder, Greg Bunbury of Bunbury Communications (UK), who I met in the African American Graphic Designers (AAGD) Facebook group, founded by Terrence Moline. Greg’s YouTube podcast, “Design for the People” focuses on creatives working in the design space that serve talents and voices that are not equally seen or heard in the proverbial creative mainstream. I typically don’t do business calls on Mondays, but this felt like it was going to be an exception … and it was.
It was 9 am in Los Angeles and 5 pm in London. We chatted for 75 minutes or so about my journey to becoming a self-taught award-winning creative director. He wanted to know about my career pivots from major brands to serving the independent publishers and authors segment of the modern publishing space. The interview is filled with anecdotal highlights covering my professional life.
Greg is embracing, insightful, perceptive, and a great communicator. He kept the interview easily flowing with his reflective style that expands on points in the narrative. I’ve done several interviews over the years, but few have ever been seen, not even by me. LOL. This one was different. This piece was posted on YouTube only 4 days after our talk. Bravo Greg.
Aside from me being in the piece, I hope that you enjoy the interview, but more so, please take a look at Greg’s work with other creatives and remember to support this brother with your likes and maybe even a comment. HE’S A REAL ONE.
